This month’s Cineclub at Jersey Museum features En fanfare, a French-language film centred on the unexpected reunion of two brothers from very different walks of life.
Thibaut is a globally recognised orchestra conductor whose life takes a turn when he learns he was adopted. This discovery leads him to Jimmy, a canteen worker in northern France who plays trombone in a local marching band. Despite their contrasting lives, the two share a deep connection through music. As Thibaut recognises his brother’s natural ability, he begins to support him in pursuing opportunities that once felt out of reach.
The screening runs for 1 hour and 43 minutes with English subtitles. Attendees are invited to stay afterwards for a group discussion to share thoughts and reactions to the film.
