This special Cineclub opening brings together three contemporary ballet productions performed by dancers of the Paris Opera.
The programme begins with George Balanchine’s fast-moving Who Cares?, set to music by George Gershwin, including I Got Rhythm. Maurice Béjart’s Boléro follows, accompanied by Ravel’s renowned score and performed in its female version by Paris Opera prima ballerina Amandine Albisson.
The screening concludes with Crystal Pite’s The Seasons’ Canon, a large-scale contemporary work set to Max Richter’s reinterpretation of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Guests are invited to stay after the 1 hour 32 minute screening to share their impressions.
