Jersey Trees for Life is hosting an open volunteering session at the Les Quennevais section of the Railway Walk on Tuesday 16 September at 9.30am.
If you're interested in tree care, or just fancy a bit of fresh air and gentle morning exercise, we'd love you to join us.
It's going to be a maintenance session for the trees and hedgerow whips planted in December and January; we're going to remove by hand the large amounts of weeds that have built up in the last few months, including nettles, sticky plant and bindweed - which (as its name suggests) binds itself around hedgerow whips and other plants, stealing their light, water and nutrients.
The morning's work will definitely require gloves but we'll do some watering as well, assuming it's still required.
You can sign up here for free if you're interested in attending.
We'll meet at 9:30am at the front of Les Quennevais Sports Centre, which has ample parking.
