Reframing Dementia is a photography exhibition presented by ArtHouse Jersey in collaboration with Dementia Jersey, bringing together a series of portrait works centred on people living with dementia. The exhibition features nine Islanders, photographed by Paul Chambers, Sophie Darwin, Oliver Doran, Étienne Lainé and Natalie Mayer, each contributing their own visual style.
The project focuses on personal identity and lived experience, presenting each subject beyond their diagnosis. Through these portraits, the exhibition highlights individuality, relationships and everyday life, offering an alternative to more commonly held perceptions of dementia.
The exhibition is staged across both an indoor gallery space and an outdoor public setting, making it accessible to a wide audience. Visitors can explore the work at their own pace, with no booking required.
