FAQ's

FAQ's:

The site looks different - What has changed ?
Jersey Insight has been moved onto a new system that has improved functionality and is more secure. As well as updating the look and feel we have tried to address your most common queries and make the site more user friendly.

  • Previously customers had to be logged in and in the correct section of the classifieds to place an advert. The navigation to place an advert is now visible from the homepage and takes you through the process step by step.
  • There are enhanced search filters in the classified section to help you find what you are looking for more easily and you now have the ability to change the number of adverts you can view on one page.
  • The classified section also has a new ‘favourites’ tab so that you can easily compare items you are interested in.
  • You can now also get enhanced adverts to keep your advert at the top of the listings with multiple images. However, please note that this service is not available for the following sections of Jersey Insight: Vehicles, Property, Jobs & Trade Cards.

Why are some sections now chargeable?
Standard listings and adverts with a single image in Home & Garden, Electrical, Music & Video, Sport & Leisure, Travel & Holidays, Lost & Found and General Wanted are free of charge as before. However, Property, Vehicles and Recruitment adverts are now chargeable due to the value of the item/ service being sold.

How can I edit my advert?
To edit an advert you will need to log into your Jersey Insight account and then go to your My Classified section, you should be able to amend the advert by clicking the "Edit" button. Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any problems with this.

How long do adverts last?
As before, the adverts will last 1 month and then be automatically deleted.

How do I log in?
All your details have been imported into the new system, but the log in details have changed so that your username is now your registered email address. The password is whatever you had in the old system. If you try to re-register with the same email address you will be re-directed to the forgotten password screen and automatically reminded of your details.

If you had multiple log in’s under the same email address only the most recent account has been kept.

How do I manage my old adverts?
All the old adverts have been transferred into the new system and are associated with your user id. You should have full editing rights over new adverts placed. If you are having any trouble deleting old adverts please report the advert and we will remove it for you.

How do I delete an advert?
Once logged in, if you go into your My Classified section, you should be able to delete your advert by clicking the "Delete" button located underneath the advert. Please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any problems with this.

What has happened to the JI WAP Site?
The JI WAP site had much of it’s information being fed from the old website. Due to the age of the technology and the number of people using the WAP site it was decided that funds would be better spent developing functionality such as ‘My Favourites’ than re-creating these feeds.

When I try and place my classified advert it says an 'error has occurred'
This is often down to the size of the image. Your image needs to be less than 4 mb to upload and in a jpeg or gif format.

I cannot see my image when I upload it.
The image will not appear in the grey box to the left of the browse button, however once you have selected your image and moved to place and preview your advert you will see an advert summary with the image.
